About the Position

The Home Care Specialist will play a key role in providing quality in-home care to clients on an as needed basis while also managing scheduling and coordinating caregiving services. This position combines clinical care, client scheduling, and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and possess strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage client care needs and schedules.

Key Duties

  • Create, update, and distribute schedules to the Home Care department for all open cases, callouts, vacation coverage, etc.
  • Ensure resident’s schedules are covered, always, and accurately within Generations/scheduling system with an emphasis on creating good quality matches.
  • Build honest, sustainable relationships with residents, families, nursing assistants, Home Care leadership team, and other members of the Goodwin Living tea.
  • Coordinate with all Home Care team members to ensure any issue or concern is supported with direct response or communicated to Home Care leadership team for resolution.
  • Provide administrative support in the daily operations of Home Care services.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least two years’ experience as a staffing coordinator in a home care agency or similar setting
  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Experience with electronic health systems preferred (e.g., Generations).
