LAUNDRY ATTENDANT/DRIVER (FULL-TIME)

About the Position

Position is primarily responsible for washing, sorting, and counting linens associated with corporate laundry procedures. The Laundry Attendant/Courier documents services rendered, delivers items to floors and residents, meets daily production schedules, and delivers laundry between Goodwin Living communities on weekends.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm and Every Other Weekend

Key Duties

  • Assists with sorting linens received from both Goodwin Living communities in preparation for washing.
  • Folds, prepares and counts clean linens for transportation to Goodwin House Alexandria and restocking for Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads.
  • Assists with and delivers personal laundry for residents of Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads as assigned.
  • Delivers laundry between Goodwin Living communities on weekends.
  • Follows and adheres to traffic laws, practicing safe and courteous driving techniques at all times.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, following proper lifting techniques.
  • Assists with inventories as requested.
  • Cleans work area daily or as needed — sweeps, dusts and mops.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on a regular schedule as assigned.
  • Must alert Human Resources or the Department Director of any change in driving record, including but not limited to accidents and tickets for traffic violations.

Job Requirements

  • Previous laundry experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be knowledgeable of laundry practices, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to health care facilities.
  • Must possess ability to deal tactfully with residents and staff.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English required.
