About the Position
Position is directly responsible for all Catering Functions. Oversees catering staff to insure the proper setting up/cleaning up of all catering functions, prepping all food items (i.e. salads, deli platters, beverages, etc.), organizing and prioritizing all catering events on calendar, communicating all catering changes and maintaining cleanliness/orderliness in catering work area and pantry. The Catering Manager is also responsible for the Billing and Payment of all catered events.
Job Duties
- Supervise and directly oversee all catered events from booking to clean up.
- Insures all events reflect departmental standards of high quality of appearance and customer comfort.
- Directly responsible for billing and payment of resident, internal and external catered functions.
- Monitors the scheduling and job activities of catering staff.
- Monitors sanitation of all kitchen areas and equipment.
- Monitors and assists in directing departmental activities (e.g. meal service, food production, catering activities, tray service and merchandising).
- Uses proper methods for food handling/infection control when producing items.
- Maintains retail venues in an attractive and presentable manner as set forth by program standards.
- Responsible for cash handling and record keeping in relationship to retail operations or catering functions.
- Assists in menu and product development for Retail Venues.
- Demonstrates high degree of courtesy and tact in dealing with customers; customer driven. Special needs of customers are handled appropriately.
- All available staff and equipment resources are effectively utilized for maximum productivity and control of costs.
Job Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required. One year catering experience preferred.
- Must have ability to read and write English and basic math skills required.
- One year commercial cooking experience required. One year supervisory experience preferred. Skills in knife handling and ability to utilize oven, dish machine, and meat slicer required.
- Skills in organization and prioritizing essential.
- Interpersonal and communication skills essential.
